So I just got back to Chicago.

To my surprise I was just briefed by everyone that we might have 27 inches of snow by Wednesday. I don’t mind it, but still, what lame timing to return to cold weather.

Also, I don’t know what Y2K was like in America, but holy hell… There are lines nearly going out of supermarkets. People are buying up every piece of food they can get.

Bicycles and Snow

This snow is awesome and all, but I really want to ride my bike places and I am pretty sure I will get really hurt.

Last winter I slid on some black ice and almost flew off my bike into traffic. My bike is not exactly in great shape either. I really should just pay for a tune-up, but I don’t know if I will have the guts to actually take it out enough to make the tune-up worth it.

Chicago has really good public transportation, but since schools out I no longer have my u-pass to get around for free.

Anyone have any advice for bicycling in the snow? I have a mountain bike, so that might make a difference.

I just jumped out of the shower, grabbed my towel and began to dry myself. BUT WAIT, there’s more.

I was in such a hurry packing that I didn’t have time to drop by my parents place and pick up my beach towels, so I just grabbed my shower towel. On my way back it somehow slipped my mind to wash my towel after my trip.

This is not something I have ever done so when I came back, the fact that I have a sand covered towel slipped my mind.

Being covered with sand on the beach is a nice feeling. Not so much in Chicago when there is snow outside.
