Immigration is the answer (LONG BORING READ)

Let me preface this by saying that I hate both the democrats and the republicans equally.

Federal spending has remained fairly constant, so why is all of this debt from?

The Bush Tax Cuts caused a huge drop in federal revenue. This was followed by Bush’s completely unfunded Medicare Part D, which contributes a huge amount to the massive increase in Medicare spending that is projected to occur as our population ages.

The wars in Iraq/Afghanistan, DOD and VA are troublesome not only because it is a huge number (Trillions lost) but because they also produce no real benefit. These are not “investments,” they’re pretty much completely waste. This is compared to things like student loans, or even federally garuanteed home loans.

Bush and his Republican Congress did overspend. Obama and his Democratic Congress (Which he had for two years, compared to Bush’s control of Congress for 6) have not overspent. They have failed to completely reverse all of the damage of the Bush budgets, for which they do bear some blame, but for the most part their budget woes are caused by the huge dip in revenues caused by the recession and ongoing high unemployment. Our biggest problem as a nation long-term is increasingly old demographics and higher health-care costs putting a too-large burden on individual consumers and on Medicare. “Obamacare” takes some steps to address this, though it’s not enough to stop there. The best way to fix the overall problem is to increase immigration (immigrants are usually young), and the short term problem will solve itself through getting employment back to even early 2008 levels while letting the Bush Tax Cuts expire.

But what do I know.

Tucker Carlson should be executed

.
Hope Fox does not take it down.
.
For those who don’t know who Michael Vick is, he was a mediocre NFL quarterback, who about 4 years ago was arrested and sent to jail for running a dog fighting ring. Him and his associates pinned dogs against each other to fight to the death. After all was said and done, the injured dogs were executed in numerous inhumane ways.
.
Mike Vick served in jail for almost 2 years, then was placed on house arrest, after which no NFL team wanted to take him back. He was not in the best shape anymore and there was fear of sponsors pulling out of the city that he ended up playing for.
.
The Philadelphia Eagles ended up taking Vick as their NUMBER 3 starter (backup for the backup). Due to pretty weird events, they ended up trading their starting QB and their backup ended up getting hurt. So after riding the bench for a year Vick got a chance to show the world what he was capable of again.
.
Well guess what? He is having a career year and is the 2nd best player in the entire NFL. Watching him is all sorts of amazing. He has become one of the most explosive players to watch. In fact, he finished in 2nd place in voting for the Pro Bowl. (The all-star game in the NFL) Quite a turn around.
.
On to why Tucker Carlson should be executed.
A few days ago, Obama called the Eagles owner and in their conversation, he applauded the fact that he gave Mike Vick a chance when nobody else was willing to. He mentioned that it’s hard for former inmates to find work in the US, which is true. Not a big deal, right?
.
You underestimate Republicans. They are making this a VERY big deal. Just to put it out there, I love dogs. What Mike Vick did was inexcusable, and he should have had a more harsh punishment. But Mike Vick the NFL player? I love him. He is extremely fun to watch (even though he plays for the Eagles). A part of me is even very happy that he has embraced his 2nd chance and bounced back to become better than ever. I will not mention all of the charity work and volunteering he does now to better his image (be it sincere or not, I don’t care - he is doing it).
.
On to Tucker Carlson.
He is your typical Fox pundit. He is a “Christian” but seems to hate everything that disagrees with him. He works for Fox news, so it goes without saying that he is a Republican.
.
There’s not much I can should say about why he is an idiot and a hypocrite, I have the video. In case it gets taken down though, what he says is stupid. “I’m a Christian, I’ve made mistakes myself. I believe in second chances, but Michael Vick killed dogs … and I think personally that he should have been executed for that. He wasn’t, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond pale.”
.
This should not be a political issue, I think democrats are just as stupid as republicans, but dammit. How are you going to preface your statement by saying you’re a Christian and believe in second chances, only to follow it up with saying you wish someone was executed? Why is everyone on Fox News such a nut?
.
Mike Vick killed dogs, but Tucker Carlson has done something far worse. He has murdered countless countless brain cells across America, and he is going to get far more attention from this than he deserves. So let’s give it to him, and I am not going to preface my argument with bullshit. I don’t believe in God, and I in this case, I am not much of a forgiving bastard.
.
Can we please start a petition to execute Tucker Carlson?

Thoughts on gay marriage

I just read a short AP article that says that Obama is “…still wrestling with whether gay couples should have the right to marry, now that the new law will allow them to serve openly in the army.
.
Know this - If you are against gay marriage, history will one day see you for who you really are. Your grandchildren will judge you in the same fashion as our generation judges those who supported slavery.
