I don’t really miss America all that much, but there are times where I wish I could speak English to someone. There are over 14 million people living in Shenzhen (Chicago has about 3 million), it’s an enormous city and outside of my small group of friends, I’ve only met about 3 people who speak any English at all.
Today, my friends decided to have “America Day” for me. This was what we did:
- After a very late night we slept in till noon
- Got lunch at a Subway
- Saw the Avengers in a movie theater (IT WAS SO GOOD. OHH MY…. [Something about watching New York get blown to bits really made me miss Chicago])
- Went to McDonalds (I avoided the food there)
- Had desert at a Dairy Queen
- Went home and watched a few episodes of Lost and House
- Dinner at KFC
- Blog time
- The end (let’s not do that again)
some more leftovers..

The birds are starting to chirp outside my window. Perhaps I should try and get some sleep.
